Face it Gabe Rivas, Carlos Garcia & Ben Blanco; Del Mar Female Students are not interested in YOU or your VIAGRA!

As I understand from insiders close to the Sexual Harrassment Civil Rights allegations at Del Mar College, Theresa Cox is on administrative leave under the whistleblowers act. Her position or imposition has placed her at odds with administration, Board of Regents Officials and the President of the University Carlos Garcia. Rumblings from the Board of Regents suggest a turmoil from within this elite group. Sources suggest a resignation of Bill Chriss is forthcoming as he is pursuing a teaching position at the University of Texas. Although he cites his reason for stepping down as the UT Teaching position one must question the motives and ask why now Bill? There's more........

The Secretary of State cleared her to run.
I think these guys are going to learn a lesson or two....
from the attorney general down. The Secretary of State cleared Ms Garcia to run. If you read the AG opinion you will know what a crook this guy is when it comes to the little people. Carlos Valdez, I cant see how he would obtain Jurisdiction given there is no criminal act. This matter should be processed through existing administrative law.
A Voter Registration in Kleberg While Residing in Nueces?
The question is, which home was her domicile. I have been to her Apartment here in Corpus Christi, it sure looks like it is her primary residence.
I cannot imagine Carlos Valdez even having anything to do with this case, given his history with Mike Westergren and I am told with Joe Alaniz as well.
If Carlos Valdez prosecutes this lady, he is a fool.
I stand behind her.

I had a meeting with Dr. Carlos Garcia within his first month as Del Mar =
College (DMC) president. I was with three other faculty members. We were =
very pleased to have a new leader with his academic credentials and =
expressed enthusiasm for the job. During the meeting he indicated that =
in the past DMC had obtained a reputation for being one of the finest =
community colleges in the country. He then asked us why DMC no longer =
enjoyed such a high ranking. I looked him directly in his eyes and said =
"the DMC administration." He was speechless. I further indicated that =
the faculty had been relatively the same during the decline in our =
national status and that our faculty members were extremely concerned. I =
indicated that we have the best overall group of faculty members in the =
country, and, I believe we still do to this day. The greatest changes in =
DMC since I was hired (1989) have been in the administration.
Dr. Carlos Garcia had been indicating that he would "flatten out the =
bureaucracy" and begin consulting with the faculty members in order to =
find the cause of our declining reputation and morale. To date the =
administration has been fattened instead of being flattened and our =
status in the national community college community is still falling.=20
It is my personal and professional opinion that the following are true:
1. Dr. Carlos Garcia has obviously taken all of the advice that his =
administrators have offered. He has onfiltered=
number of faculty members and apparently does not give a damn about the =
vast majority, or their needs. He remains oblivious to the bottom line =
in education which is that the Administration's onfiltered=
provide faculty members with what they need to teach the best possible =
courses to our students. Most taxpayers that I have spoken to agree with =
me.=20
2. Dr. Carlos Garcia has accepted the many statements made by his Vice =
President of Instruction (VPI), Dr. Blanca Rosa Garcia, that DMC faculty =
members are lazy, undereducated, opportunistic slackers who are looking =
for a free ride. These same sentiments have been echoed by VP Joe =
Alaniz, VP Jose Rivera, Dean Matula, Dean Sloan, Dean Lopez, Dean =
Natale, Claudia Jackson, Dusty Finch, etc., etc. The current DMC =
Administration is blatantly anti-faculty and has obviously passed their =
great dislike onfiltered=
(professors retire in place/everyone promoted, etc.).=20
3. Dr. Carlos Garcia has accepted the many statements by some of the =
above mentioned administrators that the "little people" (month-to-month =
contracts) have caused many problems for DMC, and that we should =
terminate their employment and hire temporary services. It is a crime =
that dedicated, taxpaying "little people" donfiltered=
opportunities as they work hard to support their families and look =
forward to retirement. I would not be able to teach my classes if it =
were not for them. They deserve much more than having administrators =
sitting in clean, air conditioned offices conspiring to replace them =
with temporary services and/or part-timers. Administrators should be =
more careful than to discuss such matters in public hallways.=20
4. Dr. Carlos Garcia has accepted the practice of his administrators of =
hiring "favorites" for positions rather than persons recommended by =
hiring committees. Nepotism and the good-old-boy (girl) system runs =
rampant at DMC.
5. Dr. Carlos Garcia has accepted the tried and true administrative =
practice of labeling any employee with a concern as being disgruntled. =
Disgruntled employees are out to "fleece the taxpayers" according to =
him.
Several of you fine folks are railing that there are a very few =
employees (you have included me) that are trying to embarrass DMC. You =
are in error. The DMC Administration has done a fantastic job of =
embarrassing DMC, and thus me. They have accomplished such a task =
without faculty participation. There does not seem to be a day that goes =
by in which I am asked "what in hell is going onfiltered=
lawsuits, complaints and grievances being filed?" It seems to me that =
these filings are directed at administrators, not faculty members or our =
"little people."=20
I will attempt to attach a copy of a letter dated June 29, 2006 which =
was sent to the members of the DMC Board of Regents. It attempts to =
project Dr. Carlos Garcia as a naive victim of a corrupt and incompetent =
Administration. If he was told (by me and other faculty members) very =
early in his tenure that he had inherited such an Administration and =
then refused to correct its many problems, I find it very hard to garner =
any sympathy for him. He has said for the record numerous times that he =
completely supports his administrators and their actions, much to the =
detriment of faculty and "little people."
The persons who wrote the June 29, 2006 letter to the Board of Regents =
members would not identify themselves. Why not? Nothing will be =
accomplished if you do not stand and deliver. This comes from a man that =
has stood and delivered on numerous occasions (letters, e-mails, public =
access television, etc.) and remains employed. If there had been any way =
that I could have been fired in the past, I would have been instant =
history. I do not lie or cower down to anyone. You cannot be fired for =
telling the truth and standing up for yourself. Telling the truth and =
correcting problems is the onfiltered=
faculty and, thus, an environment conducive to teaching excellence. Our =
students and taxpayers deserve nothing less from us.
So, to those that have stood up for themselves and risked being branded =
"disgruntled," I applaud you. For those saying that onfiltered=
members are attempting to embarrass DMC by exposing the true nature of =
our current Administration, I can onfiltered=
yourselves for not seeing the truth as it slaps you in the face. For the =
remainder of the faculty members I can onfiltered=
yourselves and take a stand (one way or the other) and be counted during =
this critical time at DMC. Do you want to regain our high ranking among =
community colleges or do you want to continue the current downward =
spiral into mediocrity and public disgrace? Speak up, speak out. The =
choice is yours!
